May 2009 |
We're pleased to announce the launch of
DISGRACED COMICS in late-summer 2009. In what we
believe is the first ever Off-Off Broadway-to-comics transition,
we'll be picking up where our summer 2008 show
ALL KINDS OF SHIFTY VILLAINS
left off. THE ADVENTURES OF MAX
QUARTERHORSE - written by Robert Attenweiler and
illustrated by Miriam Gibson - follows the
SHIFTY VILLAINS hero as he
finds himself wrapped up in more madcap, liquor-soaked adventures.
And look for some of the villains from
SHIFTY VILLAINS to pop up, as well. Our premiere
issue will be 9 pages of fun and excitement available to view
exclusively on
disgracedproductions.com. Check out the sketch of Max on our
"Current Productions" page - and check out more of Miriam's art at

In the
podcast
that announced its PEOPLE OF THE YEAR for 2008 Martin Denton, editor
of
nytheatre.com, said: "Robert is one of the most exciting,
startling new voices that I've heard to arrive on the American
dramatic scene in quite some time. Truly a voice that is his own.
…A wonderful theater sense … visiting some of the territory that
[William] Inge and [Sam] Shepard visited, but with an entirely new
twist that is contemporary and fresh."
Robert is the only playwright this year to be honored with PEOPLE OF
THE YEAR distinction.
